StreamPress Plugin Research Roadmap

Market:

- Video continues to expand.

Question:

- Is there a broader need beyond my own?

- Should this just be Wordpress or should this be made to be “pluggable” into a number of different MVC frameworks and CMSes.

- I guess Zapier can always do API bridges but one designed specifically with video in mind could be very powerful -- almost like the Zapier for video, making it really easy for people to choose a streaming provider. (This actually may be the best idea. A standalone platform that can also be integrate into WP.)

- To monetize or not to monetize:

- Would definitely require support -- think Gravity Forms

- Think you’d need to make money to keep it alive

- paying for premium integrations

- referral commissions from video providers

- integrations services (maybe)

- Could you offer a hybrid / freemium mode

Product Roadmap / Features:

- Upload, transcode, retrieve and edit videos without ever leaving WP

- Also get full video analytics without leaving WP when offered by video platform provider.

- Integrations with all video platform apis

- Wistia

- Akamai

- Limelight

- Brightcove

- Ooyala

- Possibly offer YouTube integration for free.

To Do:

- Better Jquery upload

- Should be try to integrate this with default WP media manager?
